SAINT JOHN - The 2017 President Cup champion Saint John Sea Dogs will open the 2017-18 season on Thursday, September 21st, against the Halifax Mooseheads at Harbour Station.
The QMJHL released its full schedule this week, including all 68 regular season games for the Sea Dogs [http://theqmjhl.ca/schedule/187/8] in their thirteenth campaign.
The season opener is the only game on the schedule, in what has become a QMJHL tradition. All remaining QMJHL teams start their seasons on Friday, September 22nd.
The Sea Dogs begin their season with three games at home before their first road contest against the Moncton Wildcats at Moncton Coliseum on Friday, September 29th.
Twenty-three of Saint John's 34 home games are on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. October is the busiest month at home with seven games scheduled at Harbour Station. Also of note, most Sunday home games will start at 2 p.m. this season.
Saint John will face the team it defeated in the 2017 President Cup Final, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, for the first time on Saturday, October 7th at Harbour Station.
The season ends Saturday, March 17th, 2018, with the second of back-to-back games against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at Centre 200 in Sydney.
