SAVANNAH, GA - The Savannah Bananas are excited to release the schedule for the 2017 season. The second season for the Coastal Plain League team will run from June through August, and will feature 25 dates at home.

The season will kick off on Thursday, June 1st against the Florence Red Wolves. This will be followed by the first of five fireworks nights on June 2nd. Other fireworks dates include June 30th, July 3rd, July 22nd, and August 5th.

Like last year, there will be doubleheaders on Wednesdays (June 14th, June 28th, and July 12th). However, this year will also feature a daytime doubleheader on June 28th, with the first game starting at noon and the second starting at 6:00 PM.

The regular season will end Saturday, August 5th, with playoffs the following week.

Last year's favorite promotions, such as Salute the Troops and Bark in the Park, will also be back. The full promotional schedule will be released in the Spring.

Single game tickets will go on sale in the Spring, based on availability. Tickets for Friday, June 2nd have already sold out. There is currently a waitlist for full-season box seats. The Coastal Plain League is the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 20th season in 2016, the CPL features 16 teams playing in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL has had nearly 1,300 alumni drafted and 81 of those - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut; while another notable alum - Russell Wilson - won Super Bowl XLVIII.
