Giants Begin Three-Game Series At Stockton Tonight The San Jose Giants continue their road trip this evening with the opener of a three-game series against the Stockton Ports at Banner Island Ballpark. Martin Agosta is slated to make the start on the mound for the Giants tonight. Agosta has not allowed a run in 11 1/3 innings pitched this season with San Jose.

14-Game Road Trip Tonight marks the third game of San Jose's season-high 14-game road trip. The Giants suffered losses the last two days in Modesto (4-3 in 14 innings on Sunday and 3-1 last night) to open the trip. Following the current series against the Ports, San Jose continues their road trip with four games in Rancho Cucamonga, a three-game series in Visalia before returning to Modesto for two more games. The 14-game trip is the longest road trip for any team in the California League this season. The Giants are 7-2 in their last nine road games overall.

Back-To-Back Losses The Giants enter this evening's contest having lost their last two games. It's the first time San Jose has dropped back-to-back games since losing three straight from April 29-May 1. Prior to the last two losses, the Giants had won 10 out of 12 games. San Jose needs a victory tonight to avoid matching their longest losing streak of the season (three games).

Perfect Versus The Ports San Jose is a perfect 7-0 against the Stockton Ports this season. The Giants swept a three-game series from April 26-28 at Municipal Stadium before a four-game sweep at Banner Island Ballpark from May 2-5 (San Jose's first four-game series sweep in Stockton since April of 2007). San Jose has outscored the Ports by a 42-17 margin.

First Half Midpoint The Giants (20-15) reached the midpoint of the first half after last night's game. San Jose is currently two games behind the Visalia Rawhide (23-14) for the top spot in the first half North Division race. The Giants were last within one game of first place on April 12. San Jose's record the last two seasons at the midpoint of the first half: 11-24 in 2015 and 15-20 in 2014.

Arenado Wins Weekly Award Infielder Jonah Arenado was named California League Offensive Player of the Week yesterday. In six games last week, Arenado batted .346 (9-for-26) with four doubles, three home runs and six RBI's. He's now second on the team with six home runs overall. Arenado is the first San Jose Giant to win a weekly league award this season.

In May After posting a 10-10 record in April, the Giants have gone 10-5 thus far in May - tied for the best record in the California League this month. San Jose boasts a league-leading 3.01 team ERA in May.

He entered the year ranked as the #7 prospect in the San Francisco Giants organization according to Baseball America. To make room for Garcia on the roster, catcher Ben Turner was transferred to Double-A Richmond.

San Francisco Affiliation This year is San Jose's 29th season as an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants - the longest current partnership of any team in the California League. Since their inception in 1988, the San Jose Giants have won six league championships (1998, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010), 11 North Division titles and qualified for the playoffs 21 times (in 28 seasons).
