SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes have agreed to terms with Ian Russell to become assistant coach of the San Jose Earthquakes for the 2008 season.

Russell spent six seasons playing for the San Jose Earthquakes after being drafted in 2000. The Seattle native played in 145 games during his six years with San Jose and won two MLS Cups in 2001 and 2003. Russell also played three games in 2007 with the Los Angeles Galaxy under coach Frank Yallop.
