San Diego Gulls Announce Roster Move

San Diego Gulls News Release
SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has reassigned defenseman James Melindy to the Utah Grizzlies, San Diego's primary affiliate in the ECHL .
Melindy, 23 (12/11/93), appeared in one game with San Diego this season, going scoreless with two penalty minutes (PIM). He began the season with Utah, going scoreless with 19 PIM in six contests. The 6-3, 203-pound defenseman has appeared in 53 career AHL games with San Diego (2016-present) and Portland (2012-15), registering 2-13 points with 69 penalty minutes (PIM).
Originally selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the third round (88th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Melindy has recorded 11-3849 points and 440 PIM in 189 career ECHL contests with Utah (2017-18), Wichita (2016-17), Wheeling and Rapid City (2015-16), and Gwinnett (2014-15).
