San Diego Gulls Acquire Goaltender Leland Irving from Lehigh Valley

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has acquired goaltender Leland Irving from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in exchange for future considerations.

Irving, 29 (4/11/88), has appeared in 13 career NHL games with the Calgary Flames from 2011-13, recording a 3-4-4 record with a 3.25 goals-against average (GAA) and .902 save percentage (SV%). The 6-0, 180-pound goaltender has collected a 105-101-20 record with 15 shutouts, a 2.53 GAA and .908 SV% in 235 appearances with Iowa (2015-16), Abbottsford (2009-13) and Quad City (2008-09).

Originally selected by the Flames in the first round (26th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft, the Barrhead, Alberta native spent the 2016-17 season with the KooKoo Kouvola of the Finnish Elite League, posting an 11-11-12 record in 35 games with a 2.18 GAA and .923 SV%.
