San Antonio Rampage News Release

Winnipeg, Manitoba -- San Antonio Rampage goaltender David LeNeveu won his Rampage debut stopping 20 pucks to give the Rampage their fourth win on the six-game road trip defeating the Manitoba Moose 3-2 at the MTS Center in Winnipeg. LeNeveu, who has two NHL wins under his belt for the season, was assigned by the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday when Brian Boucher was recalled to Phoenix after serving his two-week conditioning assignment with the Rampage.

The game got off to a very quick start when Manitoba forward Alexandre Burrows put the puck past LeNeveu only 23 seconds after the start of regulation giving the Moose an early lead. Randall Gelech kicked off a huge rally scoring the Rampage's first goal and evening the score to 1-1 later in the opening period. Veteran Doug Doull collected his first point of the season helping out Gelech on the play.

With the one-man advantage, Layne Ulmer helped Mike Bishai give San Antonio the lead at 14:16 in the second period. Bishai collected his fifth goal of the season with the 4-on-3 power-play as Ulmer tallied his eigth assist to give him a 16-point total.

Martin Sonnenberg was credited with the game-winning goal, an unassisted goal, four minutes into the third period to tally his sixth goal of the season.

Manitoba's Jozef Balej tried to jump start a late rally for the Moose in the closing period scoring with a little under three minutes left in the game. Craig Darby and Ryan Bayda were credited with the assists on Balej's 14th goal.

The Rampage (10-17-0-1) will remain in Canada to close out the back-to-back series against the Manitoba Moose on Saturday at the MTS Center with a 7:30 p.m. start time.
