Time Warner Cable Arena, 2:00 p.m.

The Checkers have become notorious for finishing strong this season, outscoring opponent 58-33 in the third period. Quinton Howden leads the Rampage with two goals and an assist in four games against Char- lotte this year. The weekend series will also mark the first time brothers Brendon (San Antonio) and Riley (Charlotte) Nash will square off against each other at any level of the game.

SHOTS FROM THE POINT

ROAD TRIPPING: The Rampage kicked off their nine-game, 21-day Rodeo Road Trip on Monday night with a 5-2 win at Houston. San Antonio will travel a total of 4,500 miles on this year's trip. Last season, the Rampage posted a franchise-best 7-3-0-1 record on the annual road trip.

FIRST TIMERS: Four Rampage players lit the lamp for the first time in the Silver and Black in Monday's 5-2 win over Houston. Zach Hamill, Jed Ortmeyer and Mike Santorelli all joined the Rampage last week, while Brendon Nash was in his first game back since suffer- ing an injury on Jan. 11.

STEADY DOES IT: Netminder Jacob Markstrom earned his third shutout of the season in Friday's 1-0 victory over the Rockford IceHogs on Pink in the Rink Night. Markstrom has allowed two or fewer goals in eight of his last 10 starts dating back to Dec. 28. In that span, he's surrendered a total of 19 goals and has posted two shutouts. The 6-foot-6 goaltender has won six of his last nine starts and three of his last four at AT&T Center.

SHOOTING GALLERY: The Rampage recorded 17 shots in the first period on Monday night in Houston, which was the most shots San Antonio has tallied in one period since firing 21 shots in the opening frame on Jan. 11 against Lake Erie.

ICE CHIPS: Jed Ortmeyer - Forward

Rampage forward Jed Ortmeyer recorded two goals in Monday's 5-2 win over the Houston Aeros, marking his first points for the Rampage since signing an AHL deal with the club last week. The two goals came against Ortmeyer's former mates, as he spent the last two years with the Minne- sota Wild organization after a brief stint in San Antonio for 20 games during the 2010-11 campaign. The 34-year-old forward has racked up 345 NHL games for four teams in his nine year professional career, recording 22 goals and 31 assists.

PINK IN THE RINK RECAP

A sell-out crowd of 16,205 fans watched the Ram- page skate on pink ice and de- feat the Rockford IceHogs, 1-0, on Friday during the team's third- annual Pink in the Rink Night. The attendance figure was the largest in Rampage franchise history and also was the largest crowd in an American Hockey League arena this season. Following the game, the Rampage auctioned off their game-worn pink jerseys with a portion of the proceeds to go towards breast health awareness. In addition to the jerseys, the team also auctioned off ties worn by Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich and his assistant coaches. The Rampage raised $42,000 in the auction and have now raised a total of $116,000 in the three years of Pink in the Rink to help in the fight against breast cancer.
