Gast got in more trouble in the next inning by hitting Andy Parrino and walking Jemile Weeks. After getting Hiro Nakajima to pop out for the second out, Green knocked in both runners with a two-run double off the center field wall.

The Redbirds got on the board with Jamie Romak's team-leading 6th homer of the season, snapping out of an 0-for-16 hitless skid.

Memphis got their other run in the next frame as Adron Chambers tripled to lead off, which was his fifth straight game with an extra-base hit. Chambers came home to score as Oscar Taveras reached on a fielding error.

Three Redbirds relievers combined for five scoreless innings behind Gast. Sam Freeman and Jorge Rondon each hurled two frames before Mitchell Boggs ended the game with a shutout ninth inning.
