Altoona Curve News Release

Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Russ Taff will perform in a post-game concert as part of the Curve's annual Faith Night TONIGHT at Blair County Ballpark. Admission to the post-game concert is FREE with the purchase of a ticket to tonight's 7:05 PM game against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians).

Taff is a well-known Christian artist who has enjoyed a very successful solo career, winning a total of five Grammy Awards and nine Gospel Music Association Dove awards. He has been hailed by Billboard Magazine as "the single most electrifying voice in Christian Music."

Taff was also a member of the popular Gaither Vocal Band for three years from 2001-04. During his tenure as a baritone for the GVB, the two projects he helped to record earned unprecedented back-to-back Grammy nominations.

In addition to the post-game concert, church groups will be invited to listen to select Curve coaches and players talk about the role their faith plays in their lives and professional careers. Other entertainment for Friday's 7:05 PM game will include a first-ever visit to Blair County Ballpark by the Phillie Phanatic. In addition, the Curve will hold their final "Friday Family Fun Night", featuring the opportunity for kids 12 and under to run the bases following the game.

Fans interested in attending Curve Faith Night can contact the Curve Ticket Office at (814) 943-5400 or toll-free at 1-877-99-CURVE. Tickets are also available for purchase on-line at www.altoonacurve.com.

CURVE PLAYOFF TICKETS NOW ON SALE TO PUBLIC

With the Altoona Curve in the hunt for a post-season berth in the Eastern League's Southern Division, the club has announced that six-game playoff ticket plans, as well as individual seats to playoff games "A" and "B" are now on sale.

Playoff tickets will be available for purchase at the Blair County Ballpark Ticket Office, over the phone by calling (814) 943-5400 or 1-877-99-CURVE, and on-line at AltoonaCurve.com.

Under the Eastern League's playoff format, the champion of the Southern Division could play as many as six home playoff games, while the second place club in the division could host as many as five post-season contests. Entering Friday's action, Altoona (69-63) was tied with Bowie (Orioles) for second place in the Southern Division, trailing first-place Akron (Cleveland Indians) by eight full games in the standings. If the Curve finish in second place in the division, Games "A" and "B" would take place at Blair County Ballpark on Friday, Sept. 9 and Saturday, Sept. 10 in the first round of the E.L. playoffs.

Game times for all 2005 Altoona Curve home playoff games will be announced next week.

Individual tickets for post-season games not played can either be exchanged for a full refund no later than September 30th or can be used as vouchers for any April or May Curve home game during the 2006 season, based on seating availability.
