The Chicago Rush announced today it has hired Ryan Leonard as the team¬ís wide receivers coach.
Leonard, an Evanston native who played fullback at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., just completed a season as the team¬ís football operations intern. His responsibilities with the Rush included the coordination of Chicago¬ís game film, practice video and scouting reports.
¬ďRyan will be a strong addition to our staff,¬Ē said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. ¬ďAfter working with him on a daily basis for the past year, Ryan has proven himself to be a dependable and loyal coach. Our entire staff is excited about his addition.¬Ē
Previous to joining the Rush, Leonard spent the 2003 college football season coaching wide receivers at the University of Chicago. Prior to returning to Chicago, Leonard was a graduate assistant coach (2001-2002) at Waynesburg College (Waynesburg, Pa.), coaching running backs and special teams while working on his master¬ís degree in business administration.
Leonard also has spent time coaching at Benedictine University (2000) in Lisle and Loyola Academy in Wilmette (1999).
