(Windsor, ON) - General Manager Warren Rychel has beefed up his blue line with the acquisition of rugged overage defenceman Sean Allen from the Oshawa Generals.
In exchange, the Gens get a conditional 5th round pick (WSR) in the 2023 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. Allen, 20, spent the first four years of his OHL career between the Kitchener Rangers (15 games) and Oshawa, where he logged 135 regular season and 16 playoff games over parts of the last three seasons. Rychel says he adds a much-needed dimension to our defensive group.
"Sean is a great addition to our young defence core and he will provide leadership and toughness," Rychel said. "We got some excellent reports from the St Louis Blues from his recent time at training camp with them." Allen is set to arrive in Windsor Tuesday and is expected to suit up when the Spits open the 2018-19 regular season Thursday night hosting the Guelph Storm.
