Royals to be Featured on the WHL on Shaw

Victoria, BC- The Western Hockey League (WHL) and Shaw TV announced they will be broadcasting 36 regular season games on the cable network, with the first 17 contests scheduled through December 17, 2016. The Victoria Royals will be featured in three of those games.

The Royals will first be on the air in Vancouver on Wednesday, October 5th to face the Giants. Victoria's next televised game will also be on the road against the Kelowna Rockets on Wednesday October 26th. Puck drop for both contests is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The WHL on SHAW will also broadcast a Royals' home game on Tuesday, November 22nd against the Kelowna Rockets. This contest will mark Kelowna's first visit to Victoria since the two clubs concluded their best-of-seven second round match-up in last season's playoffs. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

The WHL and Shaw TV will announce their broadcast schedule for 19 additional regular season games in the New Year.

Victoria kicks off the 2016-17 regular season with a tilt against the Prince George Cougars this Friday and Saturday with puck drop for both contests set for 7:05 p.m. On Friday night, the club will raise both their WHL Regular Season Championship and BC Division Championship banners earned during the 2015-16 campaign.
