D Adam Comrie signs with Royals
Fan favorite and 7-year pro returns to Reading
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals announced Friday that the team has signed D Adam Comrie to a standard player contract. Comrie has skated in 105 games over three seasons with the Royals (2012-13, 2014-16) and is the team's all-time leader in goals by a defenseman (39). He has also tallied second-most points (81) by a Reading blueliner, requiring just five more to pass Simon Tremblay for the club record. In conjunction with the signing, the Royals have released D Ryan Segalla.

With Reading, the 27-year-old made the ECHL Second All-Star Team with 15 goals and 34 points in 39 games. Comrie racked up 55 games for Syracuse (AHL) last season, scoring eight goals and 19 points. In 380 professional games, Comrie has recorded 75 goals, 188 points and 398 PIM.
Originally from Kanata, ON, Comrie led the Royals blue line in goals (17) and points (33) in 2012-13. He was loaned to the Worcester Sharks for much of the second half of the season as the Royals went on to win the Kelly Cup. Comrie skated alongside current Royals coaches Kirk MacDonald and Patrick Wellar on the Royals.
Comrie started his professional career with Rochester (AHL) in 2010 and was selected in the third round, 80th overall, by the Florida Panthers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Before signing his first contract, Comrie played in the USHL for Omaha in 2006-07 and spent three seasons in the OHL with Saginaw and Guelph.
