Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, Berks Community Television (BCTV) and Boscov's Travel today announced their joint partnership to televise the Royals' 2016-17 road games on BCTV in Berks County, Pennsylvania. The television coverage for Season Sixteen of Royals 'Hometown Hockey' will also include four thirty-minute variety shows that will be produced by the Royals and telecast on BCTV.

Royals TV presented by Boscov's Travel will launch the seventh consecutive year of hockey coverage in Berks County on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 9:10 pm (Eastern Time) when the Royals kick off what is an early season eight game road trip against the Idaho Steelheads in Boise, Idaho. Please note that the team's first road game-on Thursday, October 20 against the Wheeling Nailers-will be pre-empted by BCTV's Annual Octoberfest Fundraiser, which the Royals heartily encourage all fans to support!

Royals TV will carry the team's regular season and playoff road games on BCTV cable channels which can be accessed on Comcast Reading Cable Channel 15, Service Electric Cable Channel 19, and Comcast Southern Berks Channel 965. The digital streaming video feed, which will be provided by NeuLion Sports, will be simulcast with the Royals Broadcast Network audio feed courtesy Rumba 1340 and iHeartRadio Reading. BCTV will re-broadcast Friday night games the following Saturday morning at 9:00 am; and all Saturday night road games will be replayed the following Sunday morning at 9:00 am.

"The Royals are proud to continue what has become a tradition of televising our road games on BCTV courtesy of Boscov's Travel," said Royals' President Drew Bell. "The television coverage truly is the next best thing to actually being at the games, and our fans regularly remind us of how important these televised road games are to them. I believe that this is particularly true this season when we have such a long and critical road trip pretty much right out of the gate. The Royals want to reiterate our sincere thanks Boscov's Travel, as well as the management and staff at BCTV, for being such an important part of our team. We also want to thank once again our broadcast partner, Rumba 1340 and iHeartRadio Reading, for permitting the simulcast of the game night streaming audio broadcast."

Heather Adams, Executive Director of BCTV, stated, "we're excited to welcome back Royals' hockey for another season on BCTV. Our game night coverage has become an important linchpin in our regular programming during the fall and winter-and hopefully long into the spring, and we're proud to keep that going for what we hope will be a lucky seventh season. Once again, we also want to thank Boscov's Travel for their continuing support of BCTV."

"Boscov's Travel is excited to once again to present Season Sixteen of Royals' hockey to Berks County on BCTV," stated Pat Cinfici, the President of Boscov's Travel. "We're happy to help any of the Royals fans who may be traveling with the team this year-particularly on the team's early season western trip. But for those of us who have to stay here in Reading, we're thrilled to help provide a way for you to watch the games."

Season Sixteen of "Hometown Hockey" kicks off for the Royals on Saturday, October 15, (7:00 pm) when the Elmira Jackals visit Santander Arena.
