Royals, RedHawks Rained Out Again

April 26, 2009 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1) - Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals game vs. the Oklahoma City RedHawks, scheduled for 1:35 p.m. Sunday at Rosenblatt Stadium, has been postponed due to rain, marking the second straight day that has happened. Saturday's night's rainout will be made up with a doubleheader on Monday, with the first pitch of the opening seven-inning contest slated for 5:05 p.m. The two teams will play one game on Tuesday, at 12:05 p.m. Sunday's rainout will be made up as part of a doubleheader the next time the RedHawks visit Omaha on Sunday, August 23 at 1:35 pm.

Due to today's rainout, the first game of Monday's doubleheader now features a pitching matchup of two of the better young pitchers in professional baseball. Right-hander Luke Hochevar (3-0, 1.89), who spent most of last season seeing his first extended action in the big leagues with Kansas City, starts for Omaha. Oklahoma City will counter with 20-year old righty Neftali Feliz (1-0, 5.25) generally regarded as one of the top pitching prospects in the minors.

In game two Monday night, lefty Heath Phillips (1-1, 7.43) goes for Omaha vs. Oklahoma City right-hander Doug Mathis (0-1, 2.50). Tuesday's noon game pits Royals veteran right-hander Brandon Duckworth (0-1, 9.53) vs. RedHawks righty Elizardo Ramirez (0-2, 4.11).

Monday is the first dollar dog night of the season, featuring $1 hot doges, brought to you by Rotella's Italian Bakery. The night is also presented by 89.7 The River and the Daily Nonpareil.

For tickets, call the Royals ticket office at (402) 738-5100, or order and print tickets online at www.oroyals.com and at www.Etix.com.
