Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals were defeated 7-6 by the Edmonton Oil Kings in a shootout on Wednesday night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Notes:

Mr. 200 - Victoria forward Dante Hannoun registered his 200th career point when he assisted on Tanner Kaspick's second goal of the game. The product of Delta, BC is the fifth player in Royals' history to reach the 200-point benchmark.

Staying Hot - Multiple Royals' skaters extended their point streaks tonight. Matthew Phillips stretched his franchise record longest streak to 19 games and has registered 36 points (15g-21a) during that span. Tyler Soy (7g-9a) has found the score sheet in his last seven contests, while both Kaspick (4g-6a) and Noah Gregor (3g-4a) have recorded points in four straight games.

Fresh Faces - Victoria's line-up featured multiple new bodies tonight. Forward Ty Yoder (2002) played in his first WHL game, while goaltender Joel Grzybowski (1999) made his first start as a Royal. The club also recalled blueliner Remy Aquilon (2001) who skated in his sixth WHL game.

Fast Start - Victoria opened the scoring in tonight's game and have now tallied the contest's first goal in five straight contests.
