Kamloops, BC - The Victoria Royals fell 5-1 to the Kamloops Blazers on Wednesday night at the Sandman Centre to open a three-game road trip.

Notes:

Season Series - Tonight's game was the final regular season contest of the year between the Royals and Blazers. Victoria ended the season with a 6-2-0-0 record over Kamloops and outscored them 32-29.

Impact Import - With a goal tonight, Victoria forward Andrei Grishakov now has 19 tallies on the year, which is the fourth-most of any import player in the WHL. Grishakov's 38 points (19g-19a) are also tied for the eighth-most among import skaters in the league.

Island Kids - The Blazers had three Vancouver Island natives on their roster in tonight's game. Nolan Kneen is from Duncan, while Sean Strange and Dylan Ferguson call Saanich and Lantzville home respectively.

Out of the Line-up - Tonight, the Royals were without their top two highest scoring players in Matthew Phillips and Tyler Soy. Phillips leads Victoria with 100 points (44g-56a), while Soy is in second with 80 points (32g-48a). The Royals were also without defencemen Chaz Reddekopp and Ralph Jarratt, along with forward Jeff de Wit.

The Road Ahead - The Royals will continue their road-trip this weekend with a pair of games against the Prince George Cougars on Friday and Saturday. Puck drop for both contests is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
