Rox Announce 1st Players Committed to 2016 Roster

Brockton, MA - The Brockton Rox announced today their first 5 players signed for the upcoming 2016 season. Eric Feliz, Joe Robbins, Kennon Fontenot, Alex Shaver and Bryce Verplank are the first among many on the new Rox roster.

Freshmen at Notre Dame, Eric Feliz is ranked the number 1 outfielder in New Jersey and the 3rd best player overall by Perfect Game. He is also ranked the 49th best outfielder in the country as well as the 243rd player overall according to the same organization. He has been named a Perfect Game first team Preseason Northeast Region All High School Senior and was selected to the all-tournament team at the 2015 Perfect Game High School Showdown.

Joe and Kennon are already teammates at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where their preferred position is shortstop. Joe, a junior, had a bounce back year in 2015 after his 2014 season ended early due to an injury. He made 42 starts at third base and in the outfield that included 3 home-runs and 23 RBI's. In his sophomore year, Kennon had only 9 starts but had an incredible RBI pinch hit triple in the second game of the Baton Rouge Super Regional.

Alex and Bryce are freshmen at Oklahoma State University, both of whom in High School were 2015 Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American with Alex as a Honorable Mention Texas All-Region and Bryce as a Texas All-Region First Team. Alex was named District 24-5A Offensive Player of the Year and was also a unanimous first-team all-district selection. Bryce led Marcus High School to the regional finals and was an all-district performer.

All 5 of these athletes currently attend Top 25 ranked programs in the College Baseball 2016 Preseason report according to Perfect Game. Oklahoma State University is ranked 7th, University of Louisiana at Lafayette is ranked 10th and Notre Dame is ranked 24th.
