November 2, 2017 - Texas League (TL) - Frisco RoughRiders

News Release

FRISCO, Texas (Nov. 2, 2017) - The Frisco RoughRiders Foundation continues its rich tradition of community outreach and program initiatives throughout North Texas during the current school year. Visit the RoughRiders Foundation community page online for additional details and sign-up information for the programs listed below.

Teacher of the Month, presented by CoServ

The RoughRiders Foundation have partnered with CoServ to establish the Teacher of the Month program to recognize outstanding North Texas school teachers for their dedication and work on behalf of North Texas students and the general community. Teachers of the Month are recognized at a RoughRiders game during the summer to celebrate their terrific work.

Teachers receiving this award can be nominated by: fellow teachers, parents, students, educators, administrators and other community members. Our committee will review the applications and select 5 winning teachers, one per month throughout the season.

The five teachers selected will receive a $500 donation and will be recognized during an on-field check presentation at a RoughRiders home game. This $500 check in the teacher's name will be split between the winner's School District Education Foundation and the teacher's school. The teacher will also receive "VIP Treatment" at the Ballpark that includes 4 tickets with complimentary parking, food and beverages. Each Teacher of the Month winner will also receive a special gift basket, compliments of Siena Massage in Frisco.

Healthy Fit Challenge

The Frisco RoughRiders are proud to offer the Healthy Fit Challenge program to schools in and around Collin County. As the official youth health and fitness program for our fans, grades K-6, your students will be able to enjoy the memorable experience of having a member of the RoughRiders, along with one of our lively mascots, go to their school and educate them on the importance of proper nutrition and exercise. Participants will receive a complimentary ticket to a RoughRiders home game at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Sign your school up and spread the word!

Donation Program

The Frisco Roughriders are very active in supporting various fundraising efforts throughout the North Texas area for schools, youth baseball leagues, charitable and not-for-profit organizations. While we can't fulfill every donation request, we do our best to help as many charitable organizations as we can.

Speakers Bureau

Work with a club, civic group, non-profit, or other organization? We would be happy to attend a meeting and tell your group about the RoughRiders, the business of minor league baseball, the RoughRiders' charity work, and what makes the franchise successful. If you're a teacher and would like to have us speak to your class, we would love to come as well!

RoughRiders Scholarship Program

High School students can receive $1,000 towards their tuition for the upcoming semester through the RoughRiders Foundation Scholarship.
