Romney Wins Admirals Straw Poll
November 2, 2012 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
MILWAUKEE - With 100% of precincts reporting, Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced that Governor Mitt Romney has been declared the winner of the Admirals Bobblehead Straw Poll in Decision 2012, presented by WisPolitics.com.
Romney won the poll by 72 bobbleheads, good for a 50% to 47.3% victory. While it can not be confirmed, it has been reported by numerous outlets that President Obama has called to congratulate Governor Romney on this milestone win.
"On this historic night we congratulate Governor Romney and his supporters on this narrow victory," said Greenberg. "It was back and forth throughout the night until a final surge put the Governor over the top. We wish both candidates the best of luck on Tuesday and encourage all people to get out and vote."
The victory in the Admirals poll portends good things for the Governor Romney as each of the winners in previous Admirals straw polls has gone on to victory in the general election. Back in 2008 President Obama defeated Senator John McCain in a mask poll, while Scott Walker claimed victory in a mask poll as well in 2010 and went on to defeat Tom Barrett for the Wisconsin Governorship.
