Rome Rally Falls Short, Augusta Gets the Win 7-4

Rome, GA - In the final game of their four game series, the Augusta GreenJackets defeated the Rome Braves 7-4 Sunday afternoon in front 1,830 fans.

Augusta posted two runs in the first inning when Dylan Davis lined an RBI single and the second run scored on an error. Three more runs scored for the GreenJackets in the second inning. Jalen Miller singled to plate a run, another error allowed the second run to score, and Davis singled to score the third run making it a 5-0 game.

Rome mounted a comeback with a run in the fourth on Justin Ellison's run scoring single and added three in the eighth to make the score 5-4. Wigberto Navarez added an RBI single and Ellison came through again with a two run base hit.

The ninth inning saw Augusta add two insurance runs to get the 7-4 victory.

In his Major League Baseball Rehabilitation assignment, Manny Banuelos went two innings allowing five hits and two runs while striking out four.

Michael Santos (1-1) picks up the win his first when while Banuelos (0-1) is charged with the loss.
