Rogues Lose Game Three, Take Series from Pippins

YAKIMA, WA - The Medford Rogues and the Yakima Valley Pippins met in game three as the Rogues were going for the sweep after defeating the Pippins in extra innings in game two last night. Despite strong pitching by Medford starter, Max Bethell, the Rogues were unable to plate any runs and fell to the Pippins, 2-0.

Pippins scoring started early after they jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning after an RBI single by Ryan Lillie brought in Mitch Skaggs. The Pippins struck again in the third inning after Corey Morris reached on a leadoff single then crossed the plate by Skaggs.

Max Bethell got the start for the Rogues and went three innings, giving up three hits and two runs while striking out two and walking one. Gabe Gentner went four innings in relief and gave up just two hits and struck out one and walked two.

The Rogues face the Bend Elks in a weekend series beginning Friday at 6:35pm. It is Free Ticket Friday and free tickets can be picked up at Muchas Gracias restaurant and Country Store.
