Rogues Drop Series To Gold Sox

Marysville, California - The Medford Rogues and Marysville Gold Sox faced off for game three at Calusa Casino Stadium tonight for the series. The Gold Sox were led by strong pitching by starter Brad Bonnefant and the Rogues fell 3-0 with the complete game, 1-hit shutout by Bonnefant. The Rogues drop to 38-16 on the season, still atop the Great West League. The only hit of the game for the Rogues came in the fifth inning with a single by Brock Pradere. The Gold Sox plated all 3 of their runs in the second inning off RBIs by Brendan Nelson and Kyle Hoffman. Bonnefant, the pitcher for the Gold Sox, went all 9 innings, gave up no runs on 1 hit and struck out 5 while walking just 2 batters. Colton Westfall got the start for Medford and went 5 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits and struck out 2, while walking 4. Kade Wagner came in relief and went the rest of the 3 innings and did not give up a hit, run or walk and struck out 5. The Medford Rogues will face either the Chico Heat or the Portland Pickles in the Great West League playoffs, with games two and three set to take place at Harry and David Field August 13 and 14 (if needed). The Heat and Pickles are currently in a race for the second place spot in the GWL. Tickets for playoffs can be purchased here - http://www.ticketrocket.co/event/season/9. The Rogues face the Heat in the final regular season series at home beginning tomorrow night in Medford at 6:35pm.
