Roger Dean Stadium to Host Swings and Wings

JUPITER, Fla - On Saturday, July 18, Roger Dean Stadium will be hosting its second annual "Swings & Wings" event at the ballpark prior to the Jupiter Hammerheads hosting the Daytona Tortugas in Florida State League action. The event will be the sixth "Great 8" experience the stadium has hosted this summer.
The all-you-can-eat chicken wing festival is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. and will continue until 7:30 p.m. with the matchup between the Tortugas and Hammerheads slated to start at 5:35 p.m. By purchasing a $20 ticket in advance or $25 ticket at the gate, fans will receive admittance to the baseball game, access to all-you-can-eat chicken wings and a complimentary beverage (Pepsi soft drink, bottled water, draft beer or house wine).
This unique event allows fans the chance to experience the best wings that local restaurants and individuals have to offer in one convenient location. It combines two American favorites, chicken wings and baseball, to create an exciting family-friendly experience. There will also be a wing-eating contest to see which contestant can finish his or her plate of wings the fastest. Fans with a wing festival ticket will also be given a ballot to vote for their favorite wing sauce to win the People's Choice award.
Four wing flavor categories will be represented to fulfill the taste buds of all fans: Traditional Hot, Traditional Medium, Creative Specialty, and Budweiser infused.
This year Roger Dean Stadium will also be having a special appearance by the Legendary Drummer of Iron Maiden - Nicko McBrain. McBrain's restaurant, Rock N Roll Ribs, will also be participating in the wing cook-off.
"Swings & Wings" is presented by Whole Foods, Lincoln Culinary Institute and Lincoln Technical Institute.
