Rockets Host Winterhawks Seeking Revenge

Kelowna Rockets News Release
The Kelowna Rockets prepare to host the Portland Winterhawks at Prospera Place on Friday night and again on Saturday night for Paint the Rink Pink night.
Assistant Coach Kris Mallette says it's been a quick turnaround since they arrived home yesterday, but the team is ready for what's to come.
"Today we were making sure guys are aware of what lies ahead of us in that Portland squad. They're a fast skating team so we have to make sure that we're incorporating a couple of systems, and cleaning those systems up, and that will hopefully bring us success this weekend," Mallette said. "And of course we look forward to Saturday, it's a great cause. Every year there is a new interesting jersey and this year I think they're looking pretty sharp. Any time you can help out with charity, it's always really great and guys definitely get up for it."
The Rockets enter Friday night with a record of 4-4-1-1 that ties them for second place in the B.C. Division with the Vancouver Giants as both teams have 10 points.
The Winterhawks come into Kelowna with an 8-1-0-0 record giving them 16 points, placing them in first in the U.S. Division, two points ahead of the Tri-City Americans, but Portland has two games in hand.
These two clubs met last weekend, October 14th and 15th, and Portland took both games. Portland won the first one by a score of 5-4 in overtime, and then they won the second 8-2. This Friday night and Saturday night are the final two meetings between them of this regular season.
Puck drop for both Friday night and Saturday night is at 7:05pm.
Tickets are available for Rockets home games through selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050.
