Rockets Assign Jones and Machado to Vipers

MCALLEN, Texas -- Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has assigned forward Terrence Jones and re-assigned guard Scott Machado to Houston's single-affiliation NBA D-League partner the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Jones (6-9, 252, Kentucky) is currently averaging 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in seven games with the Rockets this season. Selected by the Rockets with the 18th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Jones recorded career bests of 12 points (4-12 FG, 4-4 FT) and eight rebounds at Utah (11/19/12).

Machado (6-1, 205, Iona), who was last assigned to Rio Grande Valley on Nov. 13 and recalled on Nov. 26, averaged 16.0 points, 8.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds in two starts with the Vipers. In Rio Grande Valley's season opener against Bakersfield (11/23/12), Machado posted 20 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. In the second meeting with the Jam (11/24/12), he added 12 points, eight assists and a pair of steals.

Rio Grande Valley fans will be able to watch Jones and Machado on the NBA Development League Channel on YouTube this weekend when the Vipers head out on a two-game road trip. The games will also be broadcast on FOX Sports 1700 AM. Friday, Nov. 30 the Vipers visit the Tulsa 66ers for a 7 p.m. game. Saturday, RGV will visit the Texas Legends. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
