New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT, August 19, 2009 - In response to the current economic crisis and a tightening labor market, The Employment Guide is bringing together jobseekers with companies who need their talents. On Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm at New Britain Stadium (230 John Karbonic Way in New Britain, CT), employers will be on hand to meet and interview hundreds of job seekers. As an added bonus, all attendees who enter the Job Fair between 3:30 and 5:30pm will receive a complimentary ticket to that evening's 6:35 PM Eastern League game between the host New Britain Rock Cats and the Reading Phillies.
The Employment Guide's New Britain Job Fair is part of the "Putting America Back to Work" Job Fair Series, taking place in more than 50 cities across the country throughout 2009. The Job Fair series allows jobseekers to have personal contact with prospective employers.
Participating employers will seek to fill hourly positions ranging from entry-level to management, and they represent industries such as health care, customer service, hospitality, finance, sales, insurance, skilled trades, transportation, security, and more. Adding to the success of this new Job Fair Series is assistance received from associations interested in supporting their members. Such associations include: the AARP Foundation, the National Urban League, and the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
