TODAY'S GAME: After a 1-0 shutout loss on Tuesday to the Scranton/WB RailRiders, the Red Wings look to snap their 6-game losing streak on Wednesday night at Frontier Field in Game 3 of the series. The Red Wings have now started 2-10 for the first time since at least the 1967 season. Meanwhile, the RailRiders have won 3 games in a row after starting the season 1-6. Going back to last season, Scranton/WB has won 9 of their last 12 games against Rochester. After hosting the RailRiders for 2 more games, the Wings will welcome Boston's top affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox, to the Flower City for the first time in 2013 for a 4-game set Friday-Monday.

FOR STARTERS: RHP Liam Hendriks will make his first start at Triple-A this season after being optioned to Rochester on Saturday (4/13) when ex-Red Wing LHP Scott Diamond was reinstated from the Disabled List . The 24-year-old was optioned to ROC after going 0-1, 4.66 ERA in 2 GS for the Twins this season. Hendriks has been a dominant force in the minor leagues with a career 2.65 ERA in 84 MiLB appearances including a 13-7, 2.95 (51 ER/155.2 IP) mark in 25 GS with the Wings from 2011-12. Last season, he went at least 7.0 innings, allowing 2 or fewer runs in 10 of his 16 starts with ROC and put together a 23.2 inning scoreless streak from 6/4-7/13 which included a 7-inning, CG, 4-hit shutout vs Columbus... The RailRiders will send RHP Graham Stoneburner to the mound in game 3 of the series to make his second career Triple-A start... His first came in a loss April 6 vs PAW when he allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits in 4 innings... The 25-year-old spent the majority of 2012 in Trenton's (AA) bullpen going 3-0, 5.02 in 20 G (4 GS)... The right-hander was a 14th round pick by the NYY in the 2009 draft out of Clemson University.

BACK TO THE BIGS: Highly touted OF prospect Oswaldo Arcia was recalled by the Minnesota Twins for a second time in 4 days on Wednesday after ex-Red Wings OF Darin Mastroianni was placed on the 15-day DL with a stress reaction in his left ankle... Arcia was originally recalled (for the 1st time in his career) on Sunday when former Rochester OF Wilkin Ramirez went on paternity leave... In between, Arcia went 1-for-3, including a single off Joe Blanton in his first-ever Major League at-bat, on Monday against the Angels and was 1-for-4 with the Red Wings on Tuesday night at Frontier Field... With Rochester this season, the reigning Twins MiLB Player of the Year is hitting .394 - good for 7th-best in the IL - with 3 HR and 8 RBI in 9 games.

BIGLEY PROMOTED: With Arcia back to Minnesota, OF Evan Bigley was added to the Red Wings 25-man roster on Wednesday... Bigley started 2013 in New Britain (AA) hitting .174 with 9 RBI. After starting the year 1-for-22 with 0 RBI, the Twins 10th round pick in 2008 went 7-for-24 with 9 RBI over his last 6 games before his promotion Wednesday. Bigley played in 39 games with the Wings at the end of the 2012 season, hitting .207 with 3 HR and 20 RBI.

GET 'EM IN: Last night the Red Wings were 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position, stranding 9 men on base including Brandon Boggs on second in the bottom of the 9th inning... For the year, the Red Wings are just 15-for-103 (.146) with RISP -- ranking 13th in the IL (Lousiville, .130). Almost half of those hits came on April 7 when they went 7-for-20 w/ RISP in a 14-5 romp of Buffalo at Frontier Field. In the 8 games since, the Wings are just 5-for-63 (.079) with RISP and just 1-for-25 (.040) so far in this series...

-The newest Red Wing, Evan Bigley, was 5-for-11 with RISP in 11 games with New Britain this season and hit .319 (46-for-144) with RISP last season between New Britain and Rochester

MORE FROM LAST NIGHT:

-RHP Kyle Gibson turned in the Red Wings first "quality start" of the 2013 season allowing just one run on 4 hits in 6 innings... It was Gibson's first quality start since 6/13/11 vs. TOL (6 ip, 7 h, 2 r)

-The Wings were shutout for the first time this season and for the first time since 8/26/12 when they lost 1-0 in BUF... The last time the Wings were blanked at Frontier Field was on 8/22/12 when they lost 1-0 to LHV.

-For the first time all season the Red Wings have gone 2 games in a row without hitting a home run... Still the Red Wings rank 2nd in the IL with 13 home runs on the season (GWN, 14).
