Rochester Red Wings News Release

Rochester Red Wings (2-7) @ Pawtucket Red Sox (8-1)

McCoy Stadium - Pawtucket, R.I. - 1:05 p.m.

LHP Andrew Albers (0-0, 1.93) vs. RHP Jeremy Kehrt (NR)

TODAY'S GAME: The Red Wings look to avoid the 4-game sweep to the Paw Sox on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. from McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, R.I. After losing a 5-4 contest on Thursday, the Wings were beaten 7-1 in both games of Saturday's twinbill... The Paw Sox used a 6-run 6th inning in game one to snap a 1-1 tie and 4-run 6th inning in game two to blow open a close game. After Sunday's game the Wings will return to the Flower City to begin an eight-game homestand starting Monday night at 7:05 p.m. vs the Scranton/WB RailRiders (Yankees).

TODAY'S STARTERS: LHP Andrew Albers will make his second career Triple-A start today after an impressive debut on Monday where he allowed just one run on three hits in 4.2 innings. The Saskatchewan native, who made one appearance for Team Canada at this year's WBC, was slated to start the year in the Wings bullpen but was moved into the rotation after LHP Pedro Hernandez was recalled by Minnesota. The 26-year-old has already persevered through Tommy John surgery in 2009 and a year in the independent Can-Am League in 2010 to be one step away from the Major Leagues.... The Paw Sox will send RHP Jeremy Kehrt to the mound in the series finale. The 27-year-old will be making his first start of the season and the 4th of his IL career. One of those starts was against the Wings back on 7/5/11 when he allowed two runs on five hits in 3.1 innings... Was a 47th round pick by BOS in 2008 out of the University of Southern Indiana.... Pawtucket was originally slated to send knuckleballer RHP Steven Wright to the mound but he was scratched just hours before first pitch.

WITH A WIN TODAY, THE WINGS...:

-Will avoid being swept in a four game series for the first time since 5/11-5/14/12 at Syracuse

-Will avoid losing four games in a row for the first time since 5/25-5/28/12 at Gwinnett and at Charlotte

-Will avoid be swept by Pawtucket at McCoy Stadium for the first time since at least the start of the 2005 season

-Last season, the Wings didn't hit their 12th HR of the season until the 32nd game of the year (May 9).
