Tied at 11 midway through the fourth quarter, Cody Jamieson beat defenseman Joey Cupido one-on-one and had a clear shot on the crease, beating an off-balance goaltender Dan Lewis for the game-winning goal. It was Rochester's only fourth-quarter goal after Colorado scored three straight to draw the game even.

Colorado had the last possession and tried to send the game to overtime with the extra attacker, but the defense weathered the storm.

"They swung the ball to (Adam) Jones and I know he shoots low," said defenseman Paul Dawson, who blocked the final shot in the closing seconds. "I figured he was going to rip it so I sold out and dove. I knew there wasn't much time left."

Jamieson led all scorers with four goals and finished with five points (4+1). Dan Dawson was tied with a game-high seven points (1+6). Johnny Powless (3+1) added a hat trick while Cory Vitarelli scored five points (2+3). Matt Vinc earned the win, making 33 saves on 44 shots.

Trailing 2-0 early, the Knighthawk closed the first quarter with three straight to take a one-goal lead. Jamieson and Powless each scored once before Vitarelli made it 3-2 with 0.4 seconds left in the opening quarter.

Colorado regained the lead in the second. Gavin Prout scored his 300th career goal to make it a 4-3 Mammoth lead. Powless completed the hat trick with two nearly identical goals from the same spot on the floor, giving the Knighthawks a 5-4 advantage. Jamieson added a power-play goal to take a two-goal lead 43 seconds later.

John Grant, Jr. would tie the game at six with 4:37 left in the first half. Grant led the Mammoth with seven points (2+5).

The Knighthawks outscored the Mammoth 5-2 in the third quarter. Joel McCready opened the second half with a goal off a behind-the-back helper from Dawson. Dawson later tied the game at 8-8 with the first of four straight for Rochester. Vitarelli scored with 1.4 seconds remaining in the quarter to take an 11-8 lead.

The Rochester Knighthawks return home on March 16th following a bye week to take on the Edmonton Rush in a rematch of the 2012 Champion's Cup contest.
