RoadRunners' Trainer Chavis Earns Promotion To AHL

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, are pleased to announce that Head Athletic Trainer Brad Chavis has accepted a similar position with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Chavis spent two seasons with the RoadRunners as the club's head athletic trainer. Prior to coming to Phoenix, Chavis worked two years with the Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL where he served first as an assistant trainer and then as the Ice Pilots' head athletic trainer in 2005-06. The Pensacola, Fla. native began his career in professional hockey as the head athletic trainer for the 2003-04 Muskegon Fury squad that captured the United Hockey League's Colonial Cup.

Chavis graduated from the University of West Florida in 2003. He is joined in Norfolk by his wife, Jessica, and his son, Cameron.

Phoenix will play a two-game pre-season series against the Florida Everblades Oct. 10-11 at Germain Arena in Estero, Fla.

The RoadRunners open their fourth ECHL season Oct. 17 when they welcome the Victoria Salmon Kings to US Airways Center for a three-game Opening Weekend series.
