Topeka Pilots News Release

To wrap up 2015, the Topeka RoadRunners are on a hot streak on the ice, and off. The team has recently signed two tenders for the 2016-2017 season.

Jon McDonald, a native of Livonia, Michigan, currently plays defense on the Oakland Grizzlies U18 team. RoadRunners Assistant Coach Josh Kamrass believes McDonald will be a strong addition, "Jon came through our camp this summer and impressed the entire staff. He is an exceptional skater, who has a good knowledge of the game. Jon has all of the qualities we look for in RoadRunner recruits. We are excited to welcome him to the family."

Head Coach of the Oakland Grizzlies, Mike Peruzzi adds, "Jon is a hard-working defenseman.  He is a naturally gifted skater with great offensive instincts who demonstrates amazing composure in the defensive zone.  The Grizzlies organization is proud of Jon's performance and sends its best wishes to both he and the Topeka Roadrunners for continued success."

In addition to Jon, forward Brendan Doyle, native of Colorado Springs, CO, was tendered this week. Doyle plays with the Pikes Peak Miners of the NAPHL. In his first season playing for the Minors, Doyle has racked up 16 points in 20 games and is 3rd on the team in scoring.

Welcome to the RoadRunner family to both Jon and Brendan! For more information on RoadRunners games, tryouts, and recruiting visit topekaroadrunners.com.
