RoadRunners Make Opening Day Trades

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and San Antonio Rampage, have acquired defenseman Brian Yandle from the Trenton Titans in exchange for future considerations, and have traded defenseman Brent Henley to the Pensacola Ice Pilots in exchange for future considerations.

Yandle, 23, was a two-time NCAA Second Team All-American at the University of New Hampshire in 2005 and 2006. The Milton, Mass. native tallied six goals and 30 points during his senior season last year and signed an amateur try-out contract with the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League at the conclusion of his collegiate career where he collected three assists in six games. Yandle is the brother of Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle.

Henley appeared in 48 games last season between the RoadRunners and Utah Grizzlies and recorded 275 penalty minutes to go along with a goal and an assist.

Opening Night 2006 kicks off in just a few short hours as the RoadRunners welcome the Utah Grizzlies to US Airways Center. The Casino Arizona Opening Face-Off at 7:11PM will follow pre-game entertainment and festivities featuring Rocky and the RoadRunners In-Game Entertainment Squad, the "Puck Patrol". The first 2,500 fans through the doors will receive a RoadRunners 2006-07 Magnet Schedule.

After the final horn, join the RoadRunners at Alice Cooper'stown located behind US Airways Center on Jackson Street for a special RoadRunners Opening Night Post Game Party featuring a variety of food and drink specials.

Individual game tickets for the 2006-07 regular season are currently on sale and can be purchased at the US Airways Center Box Office and at all Ticketmaster outlets including Ticketmaster.com.

Opening Night 2006 at US Airways Center is this Friday as the RoadRunners welcome the Utah Grizzlies at 7:11PM for the first game of an opening weekend three-game series. Information on season tickets, half-season packages, and flex plans are available by calling (602) 462-GOAL.
