Road Warriors Sign Stamler, Vaive

Greenville, SC: Today the Road Warriors announced they have signed forward Justin Vaive and defenseman Bretton Stamler.
"Justin is a big power forward and we will expect him to be a force on the fore-check and create space for our high-skill in the offensive zone," Head Coach Dean Stork commented. "Bretton is the type of defenseman who is difficult to play against and he can fill the role of a solid shut down defenseman."
Vaive, 24, split last season between the San Antonio Rampage and the Cincinnati Cyclones. The bulk of his season was spent with San Antonio in the AHL. The 6'4'' 210 lbs. forward scored two goals, two assists and 38 penalty minutes in 41 games played. The Buffalo, New York native also split time between the two teams in 2011-2012, his rookie season. Vaive was selected in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks going in the fourth round, 92nd overall.
Stamler, 26, was acquired by the Road Warriors last December from the Las Vegas Wranglers. He finished the year with five goals, two assists and 70 penalty minutes in 49 games played. Stamler was drafted in 2005 by the Detroit Red Wings, being selected in the seventh round (214 overall). Stamler is from Edmonton, Alberta.
In a separate transaction, the Road Warriors have also dealt Matt Lowry to the Evansville IceMen for future considerations.
The players currently under contract for the 2013-2014 season are as follows:
Forwards (12) Sean Berkstresser, Adam Pleskach, Robbie Bourdon, Matt Thurber, Jordie Johnston, Bretton Cameron, J.M. Rizk, Ryan Garlock, Guillaume Asselin, Matthew Kirzinger, Brandon Hynes and Justin Vaive.
Defensemen (5) Jace Coyle, Ryan Hegarty, Lee Baldwin, Brad Cole and Bretton Stamler.
