Road Warriors Move to First in the South Division

Greenville, SC: Marc-Olivier Vallerand scored his first career hat trick to power the Road Warriors past the Toledo Walleye 5-2.
The teams skated in a scoreless first period and the Road Warriors outshot Toledo 13-9.
Toledo began the scoring in the second with a goal from Terry Broadhurst. Vallerand began the best night of his career and responded with a goal 3:46 later to even the game at one.
The third period started with Andrew Yogan scoring just 19 seconds in with his seventh of the year. Vallerand assisted on the goal then tallied his second of the night 5:55 later while shorthanded. The goal was Vallerand's fourth shorthanded of the season, which leads the ECHL. Toledo would bring the game back within one as Adam Hobson scored his first of the year while shorthanded. Yogan would score his second of the game 1:33 later on the powerplay to put the Road Warriors up 4-2. With a 1:57 left Vallerand finished off his first career hat trick on the empty net to ice the game for the Road Warriors. Jason Missiaen was the winning goalie with 35 saves. Jordan Pierce was the losing goaltender stopping 29 shots.
The Road Warriors return home after the holidays with a chance for revenge against the Wheeling Nailers on Thursday, December 27th and Friday, December 28th at 7 p.m. Throwback Thursday returns with $2 BEERS, HOT DOGS, PRETZELS, AND FOUNTAIN DRINKS PRESENTED BY 93.3 THE PLANET.
