Road Warriors Introduce Warriors for Education
January 3, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Greenville, SC: The Road Warriors announced today a special program to recognize teachers in the Upstate.
The Road Warriors will recognize teachers and faculty from surrounding area schools who have gone above and beyond for their students. The Road Warriors ask that a student or fellow faculty member nominate a teacher by writing a short paragraph that describes why this person is extraordinary in their work. All nominated teachers will receive four free tickets to the Road Warriors game versus the Wheeling Nailers on Monday, February 18th at 1 p.m. Nominees will also be recognized during a pre-game on-ice ceremony thanking them for their service to the community. A Road Warriors' Teacher of the Year will be selected from the nominees and this selected teacher will perform the ceremonial puck drop and receive a gift bag of Road Warriors' merchandise.
The Road Warriors are encouraging students and other faculty members to come out to support their Teacher of the Year nominee. Tickets for the game will be just a Lincoln and a Washington- that's just $6- for groups of 15 or more in the Red and Green seating sections. All tickets are in the lower bowl and must be purchased in advance through a Road Warriors ticket sales representative by calling 864-674-PUCK (7825). The school that shows the most support by purchasing the most tickets will win a visit from Rowdy, the Road Warriors' mascot, and Road Warrior Players on February 20th, 2013. Fox Carolina will accompany the team on this visit and feature the winning school.
The Road Warriors would love to have local schools participate in this day of fun on their day off! So nominate a teacher and plan to join us on President's Day at 1 p.m. for a Lincoln and a Washington!
