York, Pa. - Kevin Rivers slashed two more doubles and Frank Gailey held back the floodwaters as the York Revolution downed the New Britain Bees 5-1 on Saturday night at PeoplesBank Park. The Revs (4-5, 44-35) clinched a series win over the Bees (3-6, 39-40) in front of a season-high crowd of 5,227.

Gailey (3-2) earned his first win since June 3 with five shutout innings, scattering four hits and walking four while striking out five. Brian Dupra (4-2) took the loss after swallowing five runs on seven hits in seven innings.

The Revs wasted no time getting to Dupra. Jared Mitchell doubled into the left center gap with one out in the first and came home on Joel Guzman's double off the Arch Nemesis. After a strikeout, Rivers continued his extra-base surge with a scorching double to right, plating Guzman to make it 2-0.

"I knew from playing in New Britain that Dupra likes to be aggressive with his fastball," said Rivers. "I knew he wanted to get ahead in the count, and he gave me one down and in that I got a good swing on.

"I like hitting [at PeoplesBank Park]. We were here all the time last year when I was with Lancaster. This is one of my favorite parks to hit at, and so far it's been showing."

Rivers sparked another York rally with a leadoff walk in the fourth. Bryan Pounds singled two batters later, then Josh Wilson lined a single off the base of the Nemesis to bring in Rivers. Pounds eventually scored on a wild pitch to give the home side a 4-0 cushion.

Gailey danced out of trouble through his five scoreless innings, stranding seven New Britain baserunners over his outing. He ended his first four innings with swinging strikeouts, none bigger than fanning Anthony Hewitt with the bases loaded to end the fourth.

After Jose Arredondo pitched a scoreless sixth, the Bees got on the board off Luis Perdomo in the seventh. James Skelton drew a one-out walk, and then Greg Golson - who got stuck in the visiting dugout bathroom for about five minutes before his at-bat - singled to send Skelton to third. Jovan Rosa then walked and Craig Maddox broke up the shutout with an RBI fielder's choice. Scott Rice retired Jonathan Roof on a groundout to limit the damage to one.

York manufactured a run in their half of the seventh to reinforce the lead. Wilson singled and went to second on a Salvador Paniagua sacrifice bunt. After moving up to third on a wild pitch, Wilson scored on a sac fly by Travis Witherspoon to give the game its final margin.

Ricardo Gomez struck out the side in the eighth and Mike DeMark notched a pair of Ks in the ninth as York's all-star pitchers got the final six outs with ease.

Rivers finished the day 2-for-2 with two doubles, two walks, a run, and an RBI. Of his first 11 hits at home for the Revolution, nine have gone for extra bases (seven doubles, two triples). He is batting .611 (11-18) in his five home games.

Wilson went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, while Guzman picked up his league-leading 55th RBI with the double in the first.

Golson and Jon Griffin each had two hits for the Bees.
