Peoria Rivermen News Release

NEWS AND NOTES

Turn the page...The Rivermen beat Chicago on Saturday for the first time this season. They had gone 0-4-1 in their first five meetings with the Wolves.

Long time coming...Saturday's 5-4 win was the first time the Rivermen had won a game in which they allowed more than three goals since Nov. 14 against Milwaukee (also a 5-4 win). It was the fifth time over those 29 games in which they allowed more than three.

More points for Pelletier...Pascal Pelletier has registered a point in six straight games and is now tied with Lars Eller for the team lead with 32. He has an assist in all six of those games, and he scored twice in a game on Jan. 15 in Grand Rapids. Pelletier has a point in 12 of the 19 games he has played with the Rivermen since being acquired on Dec. 8 from the Syracuse Crunch for defenseman Brendan Bell.

Limited Opportunities...Peoria's power play had only five opportunities this weekend in their two games and went 1-for-4. They are now 16-for-48 (33.3%) in their past 12 games.

Remember the Aeros...Saturday will mark the Houston Aeros first visit of the season to Carver Arena, making it the first time since they eliminated the Rivermen in the playoffs last season that they have been in Peoria. The Rivermen are 1-1-0 against Houston at the Toyota Center this season.

Wild, Wild West...Fifteen points separate the first place Milwaukee Admirals from the last place San Antonio Rampage in the West Division. It is the closest division, top to bottom, in the American Hockey League. In the East Division, Hershey has a 17 point lead on second place Albany. The top six teams in the West are separated by just eight points.
