WHAT HOLIDAY HANGOVER? The Peoria Rivermen enter tonight's game after an 8-2 win over the Thunderbolts last night at Carver Arena.

Peoria got a hat trick from captain Dan Bremner and three assists from a returning Adam Stuart to go to 2-0- 0 all-time against the Thunderbolts.

THE SERIES Tonight's game is the third of 12 meetings this season and the third all-time meeting between the Rivermen and Thunderbolts in franchise history. Peoria won the first ever meeting between the two teams in a morning contest November 2, 5-1 in Evansville and took last night's game 8-2 at Carver Arena. After tonight the Rivermen and Thunderbolts will square off December 16 in Evansville and rematch in Peoria the following night. The teams will clash December 23, January 22, 28, and February 21 in Evansville, and January 15 and February 24 and 25 in Peoria.

SCOUTING THE THUNDERBOLTS Evansville enters play tonight in last place in the SPHL, but with back-to-back wins over the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs last week. The Thunderbolts took a shootout victory last Thursday in Roanoke before beating the Rail Yard Dawgs again 4-0 in regulation on Saturday. Evansville then fell 4-0 Sunday at Fayetteville to drop their record to 2-9-3 for the season before last night's loss in Peoria. The Thunderbolts are paced in point production this season by winger Dave Williams, who has notched five goals and assisted on two more in 13 games this year.

Evansville's leading point producer is defenseman Brad Bourke, who has scored two goals and posted six assists in 15 games for the Bolts this year. In net, Tanner Milliron has played in eight games for Evansville, going 1-6-1 despite a solid 3.14 GAA and a .903 save percentage.

A FAMILIAR FOE Evansville enters play tonight with three former Rivermen on their active roster, one more on injured reserve and another currently on loan to the ECHL.

Center Garrett Vermeersch played in 127 games for the Rivermen from 2013-15, Josh Harris skated in 71 games for the Rivermen from 2014-16, and defenseman Mike Donnellan played in 27 games for Peoria last season before a call-up to ECHL Missouri.

Former Rivermen winger Geordie Wudrick is also currently on Evansville's Injured Reserve list. OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN Last night's 8-2 Rivermen win featured the first career hat trick for Rivermen captain Dan Bremner in the veteran's 258th career professional game. Bremner's last multi-goal game came over three years ago, November 15, 2013 as a member of the Columbus Cottonmouths. Bremner has now logged five career multi-goal contests, two in November 2013 for Columbus and a pair in December of 2011 as a rookie in Knoxville. For his career, in 258 pro games, all in the SPHL, Bremner has logged 46 goals and 70 assists, adding 644 penalty minutes and a +14 career rating.

THE NATION'S TRIUMPHANT RETURN Last night's Rivermen victory also included three assists from veteran forward Adam Stuart, who was re- acquired by the Rivermen in a trade this week after he lead the Rivermen in scoring last season. This year between Knoxville and Peoria Stuart has played in seven games, scoring three goals and adding eight assists. Last year with the Rivermen, Stuart skated in 54 regular sason games, notching 21 goals and assisting on 23 others, adding three goals and six assists in eight postseason contests as the Rivermen advanced to the President's Cup Finals. For his SPHL career, Stuart has played in 278 regular-season contests, scoring 102 goals and 135 assists, adding three goals and eight assists in 19 career postseason games.

FINDING GREENER PASTURES Last night's Peoria win was earned between the pipes by rookie netminder Tyler Green, who stopped 21 of 23 shots he saw to notch his fifth win as a professional.

In his rookie year, Green is now 5-1-2 with a 2.33 goals against average, and a .919 save percentage.

WHAT'S AHEAD After tonight's game, the Rivermen will then return to the road next weekend for games at Huntsville December 1 and Columbus December 2 & 3. The Rivermen will then host Knoxville for a single game December 9 before playing a home-and-home pair with the Thunderbolts December 16 in Evansville and December 17 in Peoria.
