Rivermen Game Notes at Fayetteville

ROAD WARRIORS

Despite last night's overtime loss in Fayetteville Peoria enters play tonight with the second-best road record in all of professional hockey at 16-3-1, trailing only the 22-3-1 mark of the AHL's Toronto Marlies. Before last night Peoria had won an SPHL-record 12 straight road games from December 18 to February 4.

THE WILSON WAY

Peoria enters play tonight lead in point production by winger Chris Wilson with 31 points for the season, including six points in his last three games. After recording an assist last Sunday for his 250th career point Wilson logged two goals and two assists Thursday night in Macon before a goal last night to give him 255 career points over 245 career games. Since being acquired in a November trade with Louisiana, Wilson has tallied 11 goals and 16 assists in 25 games.

WALK(ER)ING TALL

Last night's game included a Rivermen goal by winger Walker Wintoneak to give him points in each of his last three games. Before an assist in Thursday's 7-1 Peoria victory in Macon Wintoneak set a career-high with four points on two goals and two assists in last Sunday's 6-2 Rivermen win over Fayetteville. For his first SPHL season, Wintoneak has eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 22 games with Peoria.

THE WHOLE SHOOTING MATCH

The Rivermen come into tonight's contest leading the league in fewest shots on goal allowed per game at 28.49 and second in the SPHL at 34.37 shots taken on net per game. The Rivermen are out-shooting opponents 1203-997 overall, including a 428-306 margin in the first period of games, the widest margin for any SPHL team in any individual period this season.

WHAT'S AHEAD

After tonight's game the Rivermen will return to their home ice for a three-game set with Louisiana February 12-14. After a weekend without games Peoria will return to Carver Arena February 26 & 27 for a pair of games against the Knoxville Ice Bears and then the Rivermen will host a trio of games against Pensacola March 4-6.
