Rivermen Announce Ben Zobrist Appearance at November 26 Game

PEORIA, IL - The Peoria Rivermen on Tuesday announced that Eureka native and Chicago Cubs all-star infielder Ben Zobrist will be appearing at Peoria's November 26 game against the Evansville Thunderbolts. The appearance will highlight Hometown Heroes night presented by CEFCU and co-sponsored by the Peoria Civic Center.

Zobrist, who won the World Series last October as a member of the Kansas City Royals, will be dropping a ceremonial first puck at the game, and November 26 will be declared "Ben Zobrist Day" by the City of Peoria. The Rivermen will be giving away nine signed Ben Zobrist baseball jerseys to lucky seat-holders throughout the game along with other signed merchandise.

Additionally, Zobrist will appear on the concourse from 6-8:15 PM signing autographs for fans who purchase the "Grand Slam" package for $30. There are a limited number of packages available in order to allow time to accommodate every fan who purchases the package. The Grand Slam package will include one guaranteed autograph from Ben Zobrist (one per person, on provided photo or bring your own item). Additionally, the package will include a premium level ticket to the Rivermen vs Evansville game November 26 as well as one 8x10 autograph photo card, one entry to win signed Ben Zobrist prizes, including a jersey, ball, and hat (3 total winners), and a baseball snack to top off the evening, consisting of a Raber's hot dog and Coca Cola soft drink.

Grand Slam packages for the game will become available starting Friday, September 2 online http://rivermenteamstore.com. Tickets and other elements of the package will be mailed to purchasers beginning in the first week of November.

"Our Hometown Heroes series presented by CEFCU and the Peoria Civic Center are special events at our games this year that allow Central Illinois fans to acknowledge one of their own on their career and accomplishments in sports," said Rivermen owner Bart Rogers. "We are thrilled to kick off this program with Ben Zobrist, his career both on and off the field are in line with the community-based values and traditions of the Rivermen brand. We can't thank our partners enough at CEFCU and the Peoria Civic Center for partnering with us on such a great night."

As part of his appearance, $1 of each paid ticket for the evening will be donated back to a charity of Ben's choice, with the benefitted charity to be announced at the game.

Single-game tickets for Peoria's 2016-17 season go on sale Friday morning, September 2, through the team office or the Toyota Box Office at the Peoria Civic Center. Peoria's season opens October 21 and 22 with games against the Huntsville Havoc. A full season schedule is available at http://www.rivermen.net.
