Riverkings Power Play Beats Odessa, 4-1

(Southaven, MS) - The Mississippi Riverkings converted three of their 10 power plays as the Jacks lost, 4-1, at the DeSoto Civic Center on Friday night.

Jeff Alcombrack and Matt Pierce each scored power play goals for the Riverkings in the third period to pull away from the Jackalopes. Seabstien Thinel scored the only Odessa goal at 7:56 on the power play to give him 29 on the season.

In the second period, Bobby Chaumont extended the Riverkings' lead to 2-0 with a goal at 4:55.

The Riverkings led 1-0 at the end of the first period from a Bobby Chaumont goal. The first period ended with 7.8 seconds early due a hole in one of the corner boards that was repaired during the first intermission. The period was completed just before the second period began.

There were 17 power plays combined in the game on 29 called penalties combined between the two teams.

The Jackalopes travel to Wichita tomorrow for a Saturday night matchup with the Thunder. Game time is set for 7:05 PM.
