KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Mississippi RiverKings (18-9-6) erased a two-goal deficit with three third-period goals as they won their third straight with a 3-2 victory over the Knoxville Ice Bears (14-18-3) on Tuesday night in Knoxville.

The Ice Bears struck first late in the first. Brad Pawlowski scooped up a loose puck and backhanded it over a diving Garrett Sheehan to give Knoxville a 1-0 lead with just 58 seconds left in the opening frame.

In the second, the Ice Bears found success at the same time as the first. With 48 seconds left in the middle frame, John Clewlow from Garrett Vermeersch in the slot as Vermeersch backhanded a shot past Sheehan to give the Ice Bears a 2-0 lead going into the third.

But it was all RiverKings in the third. Cullen Bradshaw put the RiverKings on the board just 4:44 into the final frame on a shot that beat Knoxville netminder Bryan Hince between the legs to cut the deficit to 2-1. Then, five minutes later, Matt Harrington's shot beat Hince five-hole to tie the game at two before Bret Peppler, with under five minutes to go in regulation, ripped a wrist shot over the glove of Hince to give the RiverKings a 3-2 victory, their third in a row.

Garrett Sheehan (4-5-4) stopped 22 of 24 shots against in the win. Bryan Hince (11-10-1) took the loss after stopping 26 of 29.

The RiverKings were held scoreless on three power play opportunities, while the Ice Bears went 0-2 with the man-advantage.

The RiverKings return to Concorde Career College Ice at the Landers Center on Saturday, February 6 for the annual Pink in the Rink. The RiverKings will wear specialty pink jerseys to be auctioned off after the game to benefit the RiverKings ReachOut Fund. The RiverKings will also donate $2 of every ticket purchased by fans wearing pink to WINGS Supportive Care.
