Greenville Drive News Release

Charleston, SC - Saturday night's game between the Greenville Drive and Charleston RiverDogs was dominated by the home RiverDogs, who snapped the Drive's three-game winning streak in a 12-4 rout.

The RiverDogs (26-15, 60-51) posted five multi-run innings in the game, and they took a 2-0 lead in the first to jump out in front. Steven Sensley delivered an RBI single, and a second run scored when Bryan Mata (3-5) uncorked a wild pitch.

Tyler Hill drove home the first run of the night for the Drive (20-21, 61-49) with a third-inning sacrifice fly, but that was as close as they would get for the rest of the game, as RBI hits in the bottom half by Donny Sands and Sensley pushed the lead to 4-1.

Sensley's big night continued in the fourth, when he doubled home three runs in a four-run frame. The Charleston first baseman finished the game 3-5 with five RBI.

The Drive scored three times in the sixth on a Lorenzo Cedrola fielder's choice, a Charleston error and a bases-loaded walk by Carlos Tovar.

Isaias Lucena went 3-4 to lead the Greenville offense, while Cedrola added two hits. Tucker Tubbs made his third pitching appearance of the season for the Drive, and he delivered a scoreless eighth inning.

Austin DeCarr (2-1) got the win in relief for Charleston.

The series finale between the two teams will begin at 5:05 on Sunday afternoon in Charleston. The Drive will go for a series victory with left-hander Darwinzon Hernandez (3-3, 4.38) taking the mound, and the RiverDogs will start right-hander Adonis Rosa (3-3, 3.29).
