RiverDogs Begin 2010 Season With Eight-Game Homestand

CHARLESTON, SC - Baseball returns to the Holy City as the Charleston RiverDogs open the 2010 season. The city's favorite sports team is giving the people of Charleston plenty of reasons to stand up and cheer. So come "Be Your Own Fan" and create your own personal RiverDogs game-day experience as the season begins with an exciting eight-game homestand.

The RiverDogs first play host to the Lexington Legends, an Astros affiliate, for a four-game series from Thursday, April 8 to Sunday, April 11. Then Charleston welcomes the West Virginia Power to town for another four-game set from Monday, April 12 to Thursday, April 15. From Opening Night and Thirsty Thursday to Charlie T. RiverDog's birthday celebration and the RiverDogs' 1K race, the first homestand is sure to whet the city's appetite for wholesome family fun, entertainment and America's pastime!

Every Sunday home game is a Family Sunday and is sponsored by the *Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission (CCPRC)*. Throughout the season, Sunday home games are packed with fun that ranges from face painting and inflatables on the concourse to Reading with the RiverDogs and Family Catch on the field prior to the game, and of course there's FREE parking and kids 12-and under eat FREE! It's our first Dog Day of the season and is presented by *Camp Bow Wow *and *WIOP 95.9 FM*. Fans are encouraged to bring their furry four-legged friend(s) to the ballpark, but be sure to clean up after him/her.! Plus, the team will be signing autographs after the game! Dogs with a Cause for Monday, April 12 features Walk for Autism Charleston, a nonprofit organization that raises scholarship funds for families of children with Autism in an effort to pay for treatment and behavioral and relational development programs. Hair of the Dog Monday / Dogs with a Cause are presented by *98X *and *105.5 The Bridge*.

On Wednesday, April 14, the first pitch is tossed at 11:05 AM. It's Baseball 101 at the ballpark, so get ready to swap pencils, books and dirty looks at the front gates for hot dogs, foam fingers and a little of bit of schoolin'... RiverDogs style. It's a school day, so join students attending Charleston County Schools in cheering on the RiverDogs. Charleston County Education Day is presented by *Y 102.5 FM.*

*RiverDogs 1K Race, Thirsty Thursday and MacGruber Does Your Taxes*

Before the game on Thursday, April 15, come and show your inner-athlete at the RiverDogs 1K Race. The .62-mile course has a RiverDogs twist though, as the entire race is to be run BACKWARDS! The race begins in right field and finishes at home plate. Registration includes a race packet, race koozie (while supplies last), hydration station, ballpark-style dinner and a RiverDogs game ticket for that night. The RiverDogs 1K Race is presented by *The Brick *and *Operation Boot Camp.*

After the race it's another Thirsty Thursday, presented by *Budweiser *and *95 SX, *with $1 beers and hot dogs in the Ashley View Pub. As the RiverDogs take on West Virginia, celebrate the end of tax season with that goober, MacGruber. The infamous SNL character is the star of a new movie this summer and we want to pay tribute to him, so come and see what it would be like if MacGruber did your taxes!
