Albany River Rats News Release

Albany, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today plans to honor the emergency personnel that assisted in rescue efforts following the team's February 19th bus accident. The club has also asked all fans in show of solidarity and support for the team to wear red when Albany hosts the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5:00 p.m. face-off on Sunday at the Times Union Center.

"Sunday is going to be an emotional day for everyone involved," said River Rats President/CEO S. Garen Szablewski. "We can't say enough about the tremendous amount of support we have received in the past week and we are pleased to honor all those involved as we make our return to the ice."

The River Rats have arranged transportation and special accommodations for members of the Lee Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police and the staff of the Berkshire Medical Center to be in attendance for Sunday's game. Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings, Albany County Executive Michael Breslin, and members of the River Rats will honor the emergency response teams in a pre-game ceremony. The guests will then enjoy the game from an exclusive ice-level suite.

River Rats flex ticket packages and individual game tickets are on sale now at the River Rats office and the Times Union Center Box Office. For more information please contact the Albany River Rats at (518) 487-2244 or online at www.albanyriverrats.com.
