Albany River Rats News Release
ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today details surrounding the club's promotional activities scheduled for a pair of home games this weekend against the Hershey Bears and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Times Union Center.
The 7:00 p.m. match-up against the defending Calder Cup Champion Bears on Friday night will feature the popular Aramark Dollar Dogs promotion where all fans can get $1.00 hot dogs and small sodas at select Times Union Center concession stands. Fans will also be treated to the first semi-final round of the River Rats' "Battle of the Bands" series presented by Success Recordings & Coors Light. The semi-final rock-off will feature local bands Gordon Street and Mariaville Cattle Company. Fan and judge's votes will have an equal say in which band advances to the Finals, which will be held in January.
Then on Sunday, the River Rats will hold their annual "Teddy Bear Toss" during their 5:00 p.m. game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Fans are encouraged to bring unwrapped, plush stuffed animals to the game and throw them onto the ice during the "Toss", which will be held during the second intermission. Fans will receive raffle tickets for great River Rat prizes by bringing a new and unwrapped toy to donate at the Time Warner Cable Fan Relations Center located behind Section 128 on the Times Union Center concourse. Fans can also purchase stuffed Rowdy and Rude-e dolls from the River Rats team store to participate in the event. All toys collected will be donated to the US Marines Corps' Toys-For-Tots program.
Season and flexible ticket packages for the 2009-10 are now on sale at the River Rats executive offices at the Times Union Center, by calling (518) 487-2244 or by logging onto www.albanyriverrats.com.
