Norfolk Admirals News Release

NORFOLK, VA. - Former Admiral netminder Nic Riopel stole the show on Saturday night stopping all 20 shots sent his way, en route to a shutout victory for the Kalamazoo Wings.

The first period was all Wings in every way beginning with third-year forward Lane Scheidl finding the back of the net just 7:47 in. Justin Taylor and Austin Wuthrich would receive the helpers on the goal and it wouldn't be the last time that that duo would hook up in the first period.

Kalamazoo defender Ben Wilson would earned first goal since the 2014-15 campaign off of a setup from both Taylor and Wuthrich at the 15:43 mark of the opening frame to extend the Wings lead to two, a margain they would hold onto until the third period.

It was in the third that Justin Taylor picked up his third assist of the night for the Wings, this time it was off of a deflected shot from the point by Michael Trebish, who added to his two-assist performance from last night. The tally would be the final one of the evening as the Wings glided to a 3-0 victory.

The Norfolk Admirals are home again next Wednesday night as they host the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. Game time is set for 7:15. Single game tickets, ten packs, and season tickets are all on sale now and can be purchased at the Norfolk Scope box office or through Ticketmaster.
