Riggleman to Attend Book Signing, Farewell Event
(Pensacola, FL) - Blue Wahoos fans will have a fantastic opportunity on Monday to wish a farewell to outgoing manager Jim Riggleman and get a signed copy of the 2012 Blue Wahoos Photo Bookcommemorating the Inaugural 2012 season. Riggleman will be attending a special book-signing event on Monday, December 17th from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Bayfront Stadium concourse area.
Riggleman was recently named the manager of the Cincinnati Reds' Triple-A team in Louisville, opening up a spot for Delino DeShields, currently the manager at the Reds' Single-A team in Dayton, Ohio, to move to Pensacola.
Bruce Baldwin, president of the Blue Wahoos, said that the organization was bringing Riggleman in from his home in central Florida for the fans. "The response to our photo books has been so positive, and when we got word that Riggleman might be moving up to Triple-A, we thought it would be a great chance to bring Jim up for the fans to say thanks and farewell, and also get their photo books signed by the manager of the first Minor League baseball team to play in Pensacola," said Baldwin.
The photo book, a beautiful retrospective of the exciting first season, is being offered to the public for $25, with all proceeds going to benefit WEAR-TV's Communities Caring at Christmas, which provides toys, clothes, and daily necessities to thousands of children across Northwest Florida. Copies can be purchased at the team's Bait and Tackle shop at the stadium, the Blue Wahoos kiosk at Cordova Mall (in front of Old Navy), at local Hancock Bank branch locations, as well as the WEAR-TV studios on Mobile Highway.
Baldwin said he anticipated a future event to welcome DeShields to Pensacola as the baseball season approached. For more information, call the Blue Wahoos at (850) 934-8444.
